Thank you deeply, my cherished friend. Isn’t it amazing to witness the inspiring array of nature friends who all but come out of the woodwork during the middle to late weeks of summer? What a meaningful blessing that plenty of critters call your corner of the world home as well. What are some of the animals that you spot most often?

I had a gorgeous sighting this morning of two mama deer, each with one ridiculously adorable youngster in tow. I was walking Annie at the time and as she often pulls when she sees deer, I didn’t risk freeing a hand to take a photo, but even without one, I’ll not soon forget such a gorgeous early morning sight.

Thank you again, sweet Lindsay. I think of you and Jonas often and really hope that your August is going safely, positively, and very enjoyably.

It’s entirely normal to have certain critters that we struggle to connect with or which we may be afraid of. I was woefully afraid of spiders growing up and well into my 20s. Large ones still aren’t my BBF by any means, but I’ve grown a bit better at handling seeing/thinking about spiders of all sizes as I have aged.

A dislike or fear of snakes (ophidiophobia) is very common. My mom, for example, isn’t a fan of them either in the slightest.

While I personally adore snakes and feel a deep spiritual connection to them, I can easily understand the multitude of reasons why they are far from everyone’s favourite animal. Nor, interstingly, are they every anima’s favourite fellow critter.

Our sweet Miss Annabelle is scared in a way I’ve never seen her react to any other animal before of snakes. Thankfully, she’s never encountered anything other than garter snakes (and I hope that she never does!) and hasn’t had any bad experiences, she just becomes terrified the moment she sees one and won’t keep walking forward until the offender has slithered out of sight. Poor baby! (Thankfully such encounters are few and far between, and I’d always safely pick up and move a non-venomous snake from her path if need be.)

Thank you deeply, dear heart. How beautiful – and poignant – that these three creatures have been connecting with you especially powerfully this summer. Deer have long been one of my primary spiritual allies.

The closest I ever came in-person to a deer was mere hours before the night, back in 2016, that we lost our home in an arson fire; I knew from that encounter that something mighty was coming down the pipeline, but couldn’t have fathomed what it would actually prove to be. That is not the only time deer – be they living or spiritual energies – have been with me during difficult times (and some really wonderful ones, too) and I highly doubt it will be the last

How right you are! Life is so nuanced and full of more meanings, connections, symbolism and magick than we mere mortals will ever fully know. Discovering, connecting and working with that which we can discover is truly one of the most incredible (and positive) aspects of existence.

Thank you very much, Ally. Yes, indeed! A great many animals have magickal/spiritual correspondences ascribed to them. Some are ancient, others more recent. I’m also firm believe in using one’s intuition and determining what meanings/messages/ideas/etc various animals spark in oneself personally.

I really appreciate your comment here, as I do each of those that you’ve so kindly left for me recently. It’s been a very busy, and sometimes medically challenging, past few weeks on this end. Thankfully things are starting to mellow a tad across the board, so from tonight onward, if possible, I’m going to try to catch up on blog comments here and be online more in general again.
