What an awesome treat that spring tends to arrive early on your end. Looking back over my whole life thus far, regardless of whereabouts in Canada I lived at the time, I can only think of about three, maybe four, times that spring returned here even remotely early.

One of which was several years ago now and, oh my stars, it was glorious! We experienced an almost unprecedented (for this region of Canada) high of something like 25C, I believe it was, throughout the Easter weekend that year.

Pure springtime bliss, let me tell you! 😊

I hope that this year’s spring reaches you swiftly and stickers around well towards the centre of the year.

I too adore taking walks during the chilly season – though finding areas around these parts where the terrain is accessible and safe to do so isn’t always the easiest of tasks.

No matter what though, we have our wee woodland backyard with its nightly evergreens and elegant birches to keep us joyously close to nature both during the winter and all year through.

It is exceedingly rare for that to happen much before April here, but you just never know. Our absurdly cold snap – which usually transpires around mid-January to early February or so – began before Santa Claus had even returned this winter, so perhaps that means we’re in for an early spring.

A bit unlikely around these Canadian parts, but the perpetual optimist in my likes to believe it could prove to be the case. 😄

Aww, thank you deeply, dear Sheila. As much as I sincerely enjoy and even love winter in many respects, like many a Canadian, I do usually start yearning for the gentle embrace of spring’s first sunny days come the middle of winter.

While things have warmed up here a tad so far this week, looking ahead a few days, the forecast is calling for more snow and subzero temps, so I shalln’t be packing up the parkas and toques quite yet. 😄

Much to my snowdrop adoring chagrin, I have yet to spot a single one anywhere in our area (and believe, me I have looked). I’m not saying there aren’t potentially some out there – be they cultivated or wild – but nary a one has crossed my paths.

I love these delicate, hope-inducing blooms and always delight in seeing other peoples’ photos of them as winter inches ever closer to spring.
